Prof. Masuhara was awarded the title of Fellow of The Japan Society of Applied Physics at the 84th JSAP Autumn Meeting held in Kumamoto in September 2023.

Prof. Masuhara gave 3 lectures entitled "Nanochemistry and technology" at NTHU (March 23, March 30, April 13).

Dr. Po-Wei Yi has returned to NYCU as a postdoctoral researcher.
Po-Wei Yi became the first student to complete the NYCU and NAIST Double Degree Program.

Collaboration with Kobe University
We are extending collaboration with Prof. Eri Catani and Mr. Keisuke Yuzu on optical trapping assembly and amyloid formation of protein. They often come and stay for our experimental study.
Collaboration with DEP, NYCU
We have started collaboration with Profs. Y. - F. Chen and K. – W. Su, and three DEP master students are extending trapping experiments in Masuhara Lab.
Mr. Po-Wei Yi passed the Ph.D. defense meeting in NAIST late January and have the second defense in NYCU late February. After two defense meetings, he will finish double degree Ph.D. program.

Dr. Wei-Yi Chiang, a former PhD student in our lab, gave a lecture at the NYCU DAC colloquium on October 30, 2022.
Mr. Wei-Hsiang Chiu obtained master thesis in October 2022.
One of our paper titled "The primeval optical evolving matter: optical binding inside and outside the photon beam"was pablished in Nature Communications.
Prof. Masuhara, Mr. Chih-Hao Huang, and Mr.Wei-Hsiang Chiu visited Katahira Campus of Tohoku University in Japan.
Dr. Toyouchi，Mr. Chih-Hao Huang, Mr. Po-Wei Yi and Mr.Wei-Hsiang Chiu joined the Autumn Meeting of JSAP in Sendai, Japan, in September 2022. After a three-year coronavirus outbreak, they made their first presentation on site.
Mr. Wei-Hsiang Chiu stayed and extended his experimental research in KU Leuven from July to August.
Dr. Wei-Yi Chiang was promoted as an Assistant Professor of National Kaohsiung Normal University in July.
Dr. Shuichi Toyouchi was promoted to Osaka Metropolitan University as a Specially Apppointed Assistant Lecturer.
Mr. Po-Wei Yi started his research life in Nara to obtain a degree in the double degree program between NYCU and NAIST in March.
A barbecue party was held to celebrate Prof. Masuhara's birthday in March.
Dr. Roger Bresolí-Obach stayed and worked as a Visiting Assistant Research Fellow for 3 months each in 2020 and 2021. He has left KU Leuven and promoted as assistant professor of Universitat Ramon Llull, Spain.
Mr. Po-Wei Yi and Mr. Yu-Jia Chang stayed and extended their experimental research in KU Leuven for 75 days. Further, Po-Wei went to the University of Geneva for collaborating with Prof. Takuji Adachi who was the last student (2006) of Masuhara Lab. in Osaka University.

Dr. Shuichi Toyouchi has joined our lab and started his research as an assistant research fellow.Dr. Tetsuhiro Kudo, assistant research fellow, was promoted to Toyota Technological Institute in Nagoya as a lecturer.
Our former collaborator, Mr. Issei Aibara of Tokushima University was awarded Ph.D. degree.
Mr. Wei-Hsiang Chiu from Kaohsiung Medical University has joined our lab. as a master student.
Ms. Ya-Chiao Lee obtained master thesis.

This fellow system has been established to celebrate his significant efforts for research, education, or industry in chemistry of Japan. Prof. Masuhara is one of the 3rd generation of this fellow system. ・On 25th of Jan., Prof. Masa-aki Haga and Mr. Sho Fujii, from Chuo university in Japan, visited our lab and Prof. Haga gave a seminar in Dep. of Appl. Chem. Mr. Fujii will stay here for two weeks and will do our collaborative works. |

・The 1st NCTU-NAIST workshop on "Molecular/ Nano Science" has successfully finished. ・On , three Drs. from AIST in Takamatsu, Dr. Mitsuru ISHIKAWA, Dr. Tamitake ITOH and Dr. VIJU visited our laboratory and gave presentations in the lecuture of "Laser Bio/Nano Science". ・Mr. Ryoya Shiraishi (Tokushima Univ., supervised by Prof. Shuichi Hashimoto) visited our lab and did experiments for a week. ・In The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, Hiroshi Masuhara Festschrift is just published. Many colleagues and collaborators of Prof. Masuhara wrote articles for this special issue. ・Dr. Anwer Usman has joined our lab as a postdoctral fellow. ・On April 29th, Prof. Hiroyuki Sugimura (Kyoto Univ.), Prof. Syoji Ito, and Prof. Takahiro Kaji (Osaka Univ.) visited our laboratory and gave presentations in the lecuture of "Laser Bio/Nano Science". The titles of the three presentation is shown below. ・We held a party in celebration of Prof. Masuhara being awarded The Medal with Purple Ribbon on Jan. 11th at New Okura Hotel Osaka.
